Sarun Balakrishnan (2025 - current)

My name is Sarun Balakrishnan, and I am an incoming medical student at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). I joined CanSaRCC in 2025 after completing my Master’s in Global Health at McMaster University, with the goal of deepening my understanding of pediatric care and clinical research. CanSaRCC, has really reinforced that each patient’s journey is unique and shaped by their diagnosis, care pathway, and lived experience. I hope to continue contributing to CanSaRCC by supporting meaningful research that improves our understanding of rare cancers and ultimately helps inform better patient care.
