Global Impact

Notable Voices of CanSaRCC Investigators.

Dr. David Wilson, MD
Orthopeadic Surgeon, Nova Scotia Health Research, Nova Scotia, Canada

"As a smaller regional sarcoma center, we are proud to support and actively participate in CanSaRCC.  Because sarcoma is both rare and heterogeneous, our patient volume can limit our ability to independently lead investigator-initiated studies. CanSaRCC directly addresses this challenge by pooling patients, data, and expertise across institutions, enabling research that no single center—especially smaller programs—could accomplish alone.
Through this established partnership, our patients gain expanded access to clinical trials, and we are able to both lead and contribute meaningfully to high-quality, multi-institutional studies. We value CanSaRCC's role in strengthening the consistency and impact of sarcoma care nationwide and remain committed to supporting its ongoing mission to improve outcomes for all individuals affected by sarcoma."

Dr. Jon Hunter, MD
Psychiatrist, Mount Sinai Hospital, Ontario, Canada

"The intensity of sarcoma and its treatment makes it a psychologically demanding illness that has an impact on both the affected person and the family and friends around them. CanSaRCC uniquely fills a gap for patients and their loved ones, by providing resources, networking and memorial spaces for those affected, to their great benefit."

Dr. Jonathan Noujaim, MD
Medical Oncologist, HΓ΄pital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, Quebec, Canada

"CanSaRCC represents a vital national collaboration uniting sarcoma clinicians and researchers across Canada to advance knowledge in this rare group of cancers. Meaningful research requires multicenter cooperation to ensure adequate patient number and diverse expertise. Through coordinated efforts, CanSaRCC enables high-quality studies that would be impossible for single centres to accomplish alone, while clearly demonstrating the significant unmet medical needs faced by sarcoma patients. This collective approach accelerates discovery, improves care, and strengthens the research landscape for sarcoma across the country."

Dr. Adi Nitzan-Luques, MD
Pediatric Medical Oncologist, Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel

" During my clinical and research fellowship at SickKids, I gained extensive hands-on experience in solid tumors and had the privilege of working closely with leading international experts who profoundly shaped my professional development. My exposure to  the CanSaRCC core team and network was particularly transformative, offering advanced mentorship, continuous clinical education, and the collaborative platform through which we successfully published a significant and unique study in pediatric rhabdomyosarcoma. I continue to benefit from this network through an ongoing online sarcoma education forum, where weekly case discussions enrich my clinical decision-making even after returning to Israel."

Dr. Aisha Alshibani, MD
Medical Oncologist, King Faisal Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

"During my clinical research fellowship at the University of Toronto, I had the privilege of working with leading experts in sarcoma, which provided tremendous insights into managing complex cases and conducting high-quality research. The CanSaRCC team was instrumental in supporting our epithelioid hemangioendothelioma project and its publication, and their collaborative model continues to shape how I approach challenging sarcoma cases in my current practice. I am now a Consultant Medical Oncologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where I remain actively involved in sarcoma care, and I greatly value the ongoing connections and opportunities provided through CanSaRCC."
