Evonne Henning (2023 - Current)
Research Student Science and Physiology McGill University Health Centre McGill, Quebec

My name is Evonne Henning, and I am a second-year varsity cross country and track and field athlete at McGill University, actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology. My passion for cancer awareness ignited during grade 5 when I undertook my initial school research project on leukaemia. Since then, my commitment to raising awareness for cancer enhanced and I became involved with initiatives like Ride to Conquer Cancer. Additionally, my journey includes valuable research experience contributing to a ground-breaking clinical trial focused on redefining criteria for total knee arthroplasty. This work aimed to improve the quality of life for individuals suffering with knee osteoarthritis. With this amazing opportunity of being a CanSaRCC volunteer I am grateful to be able to further acquire clinical skills and immerse myself in the realm of oncology academia. My ultimate aspiration is to improve the lives of individuals affected by sarcoma. With CanSaRCC I am dedicated to contributing to the expansion of knowledge surrounding sarcoma outcomes and treatments, striving to further our collective understanding and enhance care practices.
