Sean St. John is Executive Vice President, Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income, Co-Head of Risk Management Solutions. He is also a member of the Financial Markets Management Committee. Mr. St. John joined National Bank in 1996, as Head of Corporate Trading. He spearheaded the growth of the firm’s institutional corporate bond trading business. He took over the Debt Capital Markets business in 2008 and was named Co-Head of Fixed Income, one year later. In 2012, he joined the Financial Markets Management Committee and in 2015, became the sole head of Fixed Income and Equity Capital Markets. He was recently named Leader of the Indigenous Segment of the bank’s Inclusion & Diversity Council. He is also the National Bank representative for the Canadian Sustainable Finance Action Council. Mr. St. John is on the Board of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, the Board of the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada as well as Chairman of its Equity and Inclusion Committee, the Canadian Advisory Board for Right to Play and Co-Chair of Indigenous Programs, and Ambassador for Connected North. In 2019, he co-founded the Social Impact Film & Art (SIFA) Festival. He was also recently called on to the Board of the National Arts Centre Foundation and in June 2022, awarded Champion of Change by the WCM (Women in Capital Markets). Mr. St. John has an HBA from York University.
