Dr. Mauricio Fernando Silva Almeida Ribeiro

Dr. Ribeiro received his MD and Internal Medicine degrees at the Sao Paulo State University Faculty of Medicine, subsequently training Medical Oncology at Hospital Sirio-Libanes, one of the largest private institutions in Brazil. During his training, he also did a rotation at the Royal Marsden’s Sarcoma Unit in London/UK, where he could have more contact with soft-tissue sarcoma patients. After finishing it, he worked as an Assistant Medical Oncologist at Hospital Sirio-Libanes for 2 more years, before moving to Toronto, in July 2021. As a Medical Oncology fellow at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, he is focused on providing care to sarcoma patients and getting involved with research on soft-tissue sarcomas, especially synovial sarcomas. In addition, Dr. Ribeiro is a huge fan of tennis and soccer, and enjoys playing acoustic guitar, which he started doing at the age of 14.
