Sarcoma can present as locally advanced disease involving the pleura for which extra-pulmonary pneumonectomy (EPP) is often the only surgical option to ensure adequate local control. EPP involves removal of the parietal and visceral pleura, ipsilateral lung, pericardium, and hemi-diaphragm. Given the lack of literature on the role of EPP for local control in adults and children with sarcoma, we would like to perform a retrospective analysis of our clinic experience to describe the treatment and outcome of patients who underwent an EPP for locally advanced sarcoma.
